![]() So, throw in the Darksteel Citadel and this card = golden. I use most of the 2-3 drop flash creatures with it. ![]() With Spirit Bonds, I realized, T2 wasn't the best time for that card anyways. I currently play faeries in modern and I've been trying to use spirit Bonds in standard for a similar effect, but it's been rough. I'm working on a way to make this card work too. If the early attackers don't get through, we are not drawing cards until T5 at the earliest. T5 Mountain, swing w/2 evasive artifacts, draw two cards, play something else.īut even in this magical Christmasland, it seems slow. T4 Island, Thopter Network, swing with whatever can get through, draw T3 Darksteel Citadel, Chief of the Foundry, maybe swing with Construct and Walker (trades are good, Walker provides thopter that may be able to get through next turn) T2 Shivan Reef, evasive artifact or Hangarback Walker With an evasive 2 drop artifact that did damage by itself, we could go: In another thread I saw Kurkesh and the Hammer of Purphoros together, which is a better use for Kurkesh than Grindclock (the best I had come up with). On the other hand, Bonded Construct and Hangarback Walker look interesting to me as potential artifact low drops leading to the Network. While I love Ornithopter conceptually and nostalgically, I think that playing it is virtual card disadvantage. I don't get building a deck around card disadvantage, which is how I see Ensoul Artifact and Shrapnel Blast, (currently in standard so I don't see the point in reprinting them before BFZendikar anyway). They had their dream play: Ensoul Darksteel Citadel turn 2, Abzan Charm to exile, next game. ![]() I don't want to offend, but I didn't experience the artifact strategy clicking, but rather fizzling.
